scylla keyboard
a split ergonomic curved mechanical keyboard
I made a nice split ergonomic mechanical keyboard from BastardKB’s Scylla kit. Some pictures of the process:

3d-printing the case was straightforward. Buying the kit was also straightforward.

Soldering the first half was not so straightforward. Certain SMDs were tough to get right and I had to switch to a thinner soldering tip and a higher temperature. This took me upwards of a month of on-and-off effort.

Verifying that all RGB components and switches worked was tricky. Lesson learned: not all short circuits are visible to the naked eye – just trust your diagnosis and reflow the joints. It worked!

Finishing the second half only took two days! Lots was learned from going through the process for the other half. Some pictures of the final result

Looks awesome!TBD how ergonomic and productive this will be :P
